Who we are

Over 15 years ago a number of Montgomery County horse enthusiasts saw the need for an organization devoted to advancing and preserving the equestrian interests and rural character of upper Montgomery County.

EPIC introduced the new Buck Lodge Loop trail with this inaugural trail ride in October, 2010.

In 2006 these enthusiasts, spearheaded by conservationist Mike Rubin, formed Equestrian Partners in Conservation, Inc. (EPIC).

EPIC is a Maryland charitable corporation organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. EPIC is run by an unpaid, all volunteer board of directors who are devoted to this concept.

Our goal then, as it is now, is to be a voice unifying Montgomery County's equestrian community and other interested parties to conserve land for equestrian purposes and increase equestrian access to private and public lands.
