May 9th Trail Ride: Explore the Dry Seneca Complex

Explore the trails in the Dry Seneca Complex with Equestrian Partners in Conservation (EPIC). The Dry Seneca trail system in Poolesville, MD offers stream crossings, shady wooded paths, and open fields.

Email Coggins and Waiver: You must email a copy of your horse’s current negative Coggins test (dated within one year of the ride) as well as a fresh waiver to rsvp@epicmontgomery.org. As of 2024, EPIC collects Coggins and waivers for each ride we host; even if we’ve had the pleasure of your company on a trail ride before, we will need fresh documents from you to confirm your attendance at this ride.
Ride Details
When: Saturday, May 9th, 11:00 AM
Where: 15225 Partnership Rd Poolesville, MD. There will be signs!
Grounds Access: You may arrive as early as 10:00 AM, to allow yourself plenty of time to tack and prepare for the ride. Be sure that you are able to contain your own horse during this time. There are no stalls, pens, or other publicly available containment devices. The parking location for this ride is on private property, courtesy of the Nagel family. Please be a good guest.
Ride Group: On the signup form, you’ll be asked to choose your preferred ride length and pace. We plan to offer three groups: Walk Only (3–4 miles), Walk/Trot (5–6 miles), and Walk/Trot/Canter (6–7 miles). Regardless of the group you select, expect to spend about 75–90 minutes in the saddle.
Ride Out Time: 11:00 AM (Please be advised that riders should be mounted by 10:50 AM and ready to ride out promptly at 11:00 AM. For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, we regret that we cannot wait for late riders. Thanks for your understanding!)
Lunch: EPIC will serve a complimentary lunch after the ride. We hope you can join us!
