Congress Approves Farm Bill Protecting Horses

Dec. 16, 2018 — On Tuesday, December 11, 2018, Congress passed the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (H.R.2), which is now pending President Trump’s signature to make the bill law. The bill is a revision of the Pet and Women’s Safety Act (PAWS Act), which protects pets, service animals, emotional support animals and horses of victims of stalking and domestic violence.

EPIC Receives Grant to Expand Breezy Loop Equestrian Trail

January 31, 2012–Equestrian Partners in Conservation (EPIC) received a $2,000 grant from the Maryland Horse Industry Board (MHIB) on January 21, 2012. EPIC website manager Stacey Nedrow-Wigmore accepted the check on behalf of the organization during an awards ceremony at the Maryland Horse World Expo in Timonium, Maryland.

Foxhunters Focus on the Future: Land

Open land is disappearing at a rate of 6,000 acres per day, according to the Equestrian Land Conservation Resource. There is no greater threat to the equestrian community than the loss of land. We need land for pasture and hay, for raising foals, and for our horse sports, including (but not limited to) trail riding, eventing, foxhunting, driving, and that most Maryland of all equestrian sports, steeplechase.
